12 sleeps until Richard’s first Christmas Concert!
Richard, Amy, Howard, Daisy and Django have been deep in rehearsals for Richard’s 20th Anniversary Christmas Tour.
The fun begins during the first weekend of Advent:
- St. John the Baptist Church, Coventry (Saturday 29th Nov)
- Theatr Clwyd, Mold (Sunday 30th Nov).

Richard talks of the significance of this anniversary tour:
“The past 20 winters have been the most magical part of my life spent playing music and watching my four wonderful children grow up. Even as toddlers they would join me on stage and sing along but now, variously, they come with me on the tour and contribute new songs and ideas.
“We share a respect for both the Pagan and Christian aspects of midwinter and love spending these mystical weeks with Amy and our extended musical family.”
Richard has also been working on a live album of recordings with musical friends from previous tours. Classic Christmas tour line ups with Felix and Rooney Durrant, Nick Pynn and Brian Gulland can be heard on this collection alongside some incredible new recordings.

At each Songs of the Solstice gig you will hear the oldest carols, seasonal folk tunes, Christmas chart music and a wealth of new material contributed to by every member of the band. Listen out for the recently rediscovered
Barnsley Carol – you can hear the carol on Richard’s website.
Written in 1933 by Barnsley bottle maker Arthur Godfrey it was then lost for the best part of 100 years. Arthur’s four part manuscript is beautifully complimented by the silver tones of Richard’s Tenor Guitar in what the group call their own ‘unbeatable’ version.
