Celebrate a British Isles Midwinter

Richard’s love of music is tangled up in the seasons. Once Halloween passes, things turn wintry. The annual Christmas tour is an expression of a British Isles Midwinter.

Each season arrives with the urge to explore specific instrumental combinations and styles. In the warmer months concerts are connected by cycle paths and much of the music is inspired by the natural world: the sea, the sun and the rolling Sussex Downs.

At midwinter Richard is joined by fellow musicians to weave together the Pagan and Christian celebrations. From the oldest songs in The Oxford Book of Carols to Folk Tunes, Christina Rossetti and an abundance of new material.
